Ballenger Barn, 2098 220th St, Bennett (Cedar County)
The Ballenger’s hold a record for one of the largest barns in the area. The barn is on the south side of the highway. This barn was built in 1920 by a Charles Geadelmann. The barn is 120 x 40 feet. He passed away before the barn was finished. The hay track is divided in the middle so the rope needs to be pulled only half the distance. The family says that 10,000square hay bales can be put up in the haymow.
