Hansen Crib, 4015-340th Avenue, Ruthven (Clay County) – From Ruthven, go 4 miles south on N18/340th Avenue
One-of-a-kind landmark corn crib built in the early 1940s holds 7,000 bushels of ear corn and 4,000 bushels of small grain. In the middle of the crib is a bucket system that transports the grain to the top of the crib and can be released into multiple outlets. Carl Hansen, his 4 sons, and 2 bricklayers built the crib. Carl’s grandson currently lives on the farm.
