Harvey Barn, 4516 190th Street, Estherville (Emmet County) – Take IA 9 through Gruver. Turn south on N40. Go two miles. Turn east 3/4-mile.
Farm was homesteaded in 1888. Dan Harvey’s great grandparents built the distinctive clay tile gambrel roof barn and corn crib in 1927. The barn was used for dairy cattle for its first five years, then it sat unused until the 1970s when a cousin used it for horses. The corn crib stored ear corn, barley, oats, and soybeans in its early years and served as a working feed mill in early 1930s. The vertical elevator system still works today (Restoration Grant).
