Slifka Barn (New for 2024), 1371 175th St, Postville (Winneshiek County)
Unique gothic arch roof bank barn was built in 1916 by Martin Harris for his dairy cows, providing animal shelter below and hay storage above. It burned down in 1959 and was rebuilt after a few months. The barn was known in the area to host a few neighborhood gatherings. In 2024, current owners replaced the steel roof with the assistance of an Iowa Barn Foundation restoration grant. New gutters were installed along with a fresh coat of paint. The working barn currently provides haven for a flock of sheep.
